It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Hector passed away. We’re sharing the Facebook post from that day to remind us of the fond memories he created, and because the message still rings true. The support we’ve received through the Hector Fund has been nothing short of amazing, and we thank all of our supporters for making it happen. It has allowed us to care for dogs rescued from abusive situations and find them a better home, and we look forward to helping others with your continued support. Read More
Each year Pit Bulletin Legal News Network presents the Wallace Award to an individual that brings positive attention for pit bull type dogs and generates an atmosphere of change throughout the year. The Wallace Award was named after our very own Wallace the Pit Bull, who was the inaugural recipient in 2012.
Since the award is named after Wallace, and we at Wallace the Pit Bull Foundation want to help support efforts that improve the lives of dogs and the people who care for them, we plan on adding a little something to the award given by Pit Bulletin Legal News Network this year. Besides the much deserved recognition and gratitude, Wallace the Pit Bull Foundation will donate $1,000 to the dog related charity of the recipient’s choice! We are also making this retroactive and will be donating $1,000 to the charity of choice for each of the previous recipients, Rebecca Corry and Lori Weise. Read More
My name is Andrew Yori, but most people call me Roo. I think it’s important to start out by letting you know that I was not one of the people opposed to you getting a second chance. I was also not one of the people who called for a boycott of the NFL. My wife and I did adopt one of the dogs that was rescued from your Virginia property back in 2007 though. The rescuers named him Hector, and he was featured in media across the country. I did my best not to talk out against you throughout the process because I was hoping that you would learn that what you did was wrong, why it was wrong, and become one of the best advocates for the cause. Stephanie has lived her entire life in Minnesota. She grew up out in the country, very close to her dad’s childhood home. She spent a lot of time on her grandparent’s farm, and all of the dogs they had while she was growing up were either strays or dogs that had been abandoned in the country. They were all mutts, and they were great dogs.
I’d like to be the first to welcome you to the website and blog of Wallace the Pit Bull Foundation! I’m very excited to be writing this post, because it means that a new chapter of our journey is ready to begin. Another chapter inspired by the incredible dogs and people we’ve met, while we watched Wallace and Hector positively affect the lives of so many others.
